Listening to hymns and Christian praise/worship music is particularly important for the mind and it is also important for spiritual encouragement and growth. The bible teaches us to put on a helmet of praise for spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3).

The bible instructs us in Philippians 4 that if we commit to doing the following that the peace of God which passeth all understanding will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus:

Then if we keep our minds fixed on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue and praise, God will give us the strength to do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens us.

A Case for the Gospel of Truth

Evidence is widely documented regarding the authenticity of the Holy Bible and there are many documented testimonies of healing and miracles and “unexplained” recoveries from uncurable illnesses and diseases which one can only conclude as a mystery or from supernatural forces of nature or for those who have been fortunate to hear the gospel of truth and have come to know faith, they know such miracles are from God via prayer and believing in the words of life written in the Bible.

The Baptist Bible College teaches how we prove the Bible is to be trusted and has authority, which includes the following:

Manuscripts – Eye witness accounts. The entire gospel was recorded 40 years after Jesus death and resurrection. There are thousands of original manuscripts available to study, with the Gospels having 2000 manuscripts. All verified by scholars as an authentic record of events. Scholars such as Thallus (52AD), Pliny (112AD) and Josephus all wrote documents about Jesus.
Archaeology – The remains of ancient cities have been examined by archaeologists e.g., William Ramsey aiming to discredit or verify the truth of scripture and found every piece of evidence confirmed the Bible to be true. Professor Donald Wiseman, Professor of Assyriology in London university, Dr J.O Kinnaman and Ur of Chaldes (Abraham), Solomons military installations all reported that all evidence found neither contradicts or denies that the Bible is trustworthy.
Prophecy – Hundreds of prophecies in the Bible relating to Jesus coming – Bethlehem (Micah 5v2), he would enter Jerusalem on a donkey (Zech. 9v9), rejected and killed (Isaiah 53v 3-5) men would gamble for his clothes (Psalm 22v18) – All came true 400 years later. Other prophecies relating to “Tyre” being defeated and destroyed (Ezekiel 26v14) came true 1291AD. Amos foretold the downfall of Israel, Isaiah the return from exile, Jesus the destruction of Jerusalem – All came true.
Consistency – The 66 books of the Bible were written by authors over 1000 years - the harmony from beginning to end is amazing. Dr Gleason Archer reported that every contradiction in scripture suggested by man from ancient times till now has been dealt with in a completely satisfactory manner by the biblical text itself or else by objective archaeological information.

The Importance of
Reading Gods Word:

All scripture is given by God and is God Breathed (2 Timothy 3:16)
The word reveals the way of salvation (2 Tim 3v15) and the promise of eternal life after death, when God shall wipe away all tears, there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain. All former things are passed away and he makes all things new. John 3:16 and Revelation 21: 4-5.
It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16
God’s word are words of life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:22.

There are many testimonies of faith published and sold by evangelical book shops such as “Faith Mission”, “Eden Christian Bookshop” and recorded online via Christian broadcasts such as GodTv and UCB radio. They all demonstrate the miraculous saving grace and healing power of God through Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:1

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Everyone should test everything they see, hear or read against the truth. The holy spirit is given to teach us all things and lead us into ways of righteousness.

No teaching/church or organisation is perfect or all knowing... Only God. So one must ensure they pray for wisdom and discernment as they watch/listen/read every Christian resource....
